Moving Forward in Faith

Invitation and Response - Gen 12:1-4

We meet together in the presence of God

And we do not meet alone.

Our voices mingle with the worship of highest heaven

and our worship is added to theirs.

The saints of every age declare that they adore the Living God

We join with them to worship the Lord.

We are on a journey of faith, in the presence of God

God walks with us; we do not journey alone.

Praise his name.

Pause a moment

Praise Lord of all hopefulness,

Loving and faithful God,

we come into your presence rejoicing.

We come to sing your praise,

we come to hear your words of power

we come to share your all-embracing love.

May we know your presence with us as we worship you.

For we are called to be your people

called to walk the way of Jesus

we come offering ourselves as living sacrifices

Speak to us your words of comfort and challenge.

Living Jesus, we praise and worship you for you show us God is love:

love which reaches to all people;

love which does not count the cost of loving;

love which never ends.

Jesus, we praise you because you are the Way:

you are the way to God;

you lived the way we want to live;

you guide us on God's way of life.

Jesus, we praise you because you are the Truth:

you are the truth about God;

you show us the truth about ourselves;

you show us how to live as true human beings.

Jesus, we praise you because you are the Life:

you lived life perfectly, without sin;

you give us the example for life;

you help us to live our life to the full.

Loving God, help us to respond to your promise and challenge.  By your Holy Spirit renew us in your service. Amen

Affirmation of faith -from Isaiah 40:28-31

We have come to know this,

and this is what we have heard:

the Lord is the everlasting God,

creator of all we can see, hear or imagine.

He does not grow weary or faint;

His wisdom is unsearchable.

He gives energy to the meek

and strength to those who have none.

Even youths shall faint and grow weary,

young people tire and fall exhausted;

but to those who love the Lord Jesus

and patiently put their trust in God,

God gives fresh strength;

and they will soar on wings like eagles,

they will run—never winded, never weary.

they will walk—never tired, never faint.

James 5:16 encourages us to confess our sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.  This is the place of healing and wholeness

Lord, forgive us when we love ourselves and not you.

When we go our way and not yours

When we think we know better that your truth.

Forgive us when we live for ourselves and not for you

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Prayer for others -Judy

Lord’s prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name,

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread and

Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors

and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil

For Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory for ever. Amen
